VoyageDallas - Rising Stars: Meet Adam Jackson
During the pandemic, I started with dropshipping men’s formal and informal clothing, such as dress shoes, ties, dress shirts, etc. The business was a success, but ultimately, it was not something I was passionate about. My wife suggested focusing on a watch brand.
So, I took some time to think about it. I realized I knew a great deal about watches. I have over 79 different timepieces, and each one went with a different outfit in my closet. So, I studied all the watches in my collection to understand what made them different, what made me choose each one, and how I would redesign the elements of each watch. That’s when I came up with my design.
I began to research different watch designs. After I did my homework and studied how I wanted my watches to look and feel, I built a team, created designs, and it was downhill from there.
The name itself will relate to everyone more than I can ever imagine. This isn’t the typical watch brand you see on a daily basis. This is more of a movement than a watch brand.
The meaning behind Day & Night Watch Co. is all about a person’s hard work and not forgetting exactly where you came from. Many people see the outcome of a person’s success, but you never see the behind-the-scenes of what it took to get there. And the best way to explain it is that it’s a 24/7 grind, every single day and every single night.
We’re all human, and we tend to forget what it takes. That’s why you see the words “Day & Night” on the face instead of the logo itself because the words are to be a reminder of that hard work you put in, and it pays off in the end if you put your mind to whatever trait you specialize in and follow through on what needs to be done.
These are the essential things to be reminded of, and I want people who are advocates of this mindset to wear my watches as a trophy of the grind given on a daily basis because that is a mindset and memory that we can pass on to our legacies and their legacies when it’s our time to move on.
We must decide to push forward and pursue our goals. The moment that is done, and a person makes that change and believes in the difference they are making, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
And that’s what Day & Night Watch Co. is all about.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a business from the ground up is never a smooth process. But it’s an experience that I will never forget. The hardest part was designing the watches. The biggest challenge is that the watch industry has its perks and opinions. Everyone has their own characteristics and style. And it’s not a one size fits all kind of industry.
So, when I designed my watch brand, these are the kind of things I had in mind. Something that was going to be durable. Something simplistic. Something for the everyday lifestyle. Something unique. And most of all, something affordable.
Putting all these things together is a challenge in itself. I am just glad that I took my time to bring out a brand that makes a strong statement on all ends.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Outside of being a watch collector, I’ve been doing IT sales for over 12 years, where I have demonstrated strengths that include assessing organizational needs, setting strategic direction, and implementing initiatives that enhance corporate performance at an expanding company.
I also have a proven ability to help customers suggest, choose, and help locate products based on their needs and desires. And I demonstrate the ability to guide customers from the beginning to the end of their sales journey.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about our city is the southern hospitality. You can come here and not fall under the stress of disrespect everywhere you go. Great people vibe with great people. It’s one of a kind.
What I like about our city is that it’s enormous. You have to have a vehicle everywhere you go, and don’t get me started on traffic.
